The Swedish National Board of Institutional Care (SiS) is an authority responsible for individually adapted compulsory care for young people with complex psychosocial issues and for adults with substance abuse. SiS also implements secure youth care. We do this at youth homes and homes for adults with substance abuse throughout the country. At SiS, your work life will be an exciting challenge. Regardless of where you work in our organization or what position you hold, you help create life-changing transformations.
SiS Youth Home Långanäs receives non-compulsory school-age boys with psychosocial issues, criminal behavior, and substance abuse.
Job Description
Do you want to be part of creating life-changing transformations for vulnerable individuals? Then the job as a treatment pedagogue at SiS is a meaningful challenge. SiS Youth Home Långanäs has opened several new departments over the past year and, in connection with the new year, will also increase the number of employees in the departments. This is to ensure a good working environment and opportunities for professional development. Therefore, we are looking for several treatment pedagogues who want to contribute with their knowledge and be the ones who stay.
As a treatment pedagogue, you work in a team with treatment assistants and treatment coordinators, and together you are responsible for ensuring that the young people and clients living with us receive the security, care, and treatment they need. We often meet people in crisis, which means you work with qualified care and motivational work and provide support in everyday life. With the support of your knowledge in care and treatment work, you actively contribute to the fulfillment of treatment plans. Documentation is an important part of your work and contributes to legal security, planning, and follow-up of our operations. You help maintain safety according to our routines and contribute to the smooth running of daily activities such as schooling, cleaning, cooking, etc. Being a contact person is also one of your tasks. The work may also include mentoring new employees and interns. This is a job for you who see a positive challenge in working with vulnerable individuals in difficult life situations. The job is often demanding but also stimulating, joyful, and varied.
Our vision is to be a place for change, and this permeates our approach, our commitment, and our attitude.
Working hours are according to a schedule of days, evenings, and weekends.
As a new employee, you will undergo SiS basic training for 10 weeks. The training combines theory with a guided introduction and prepares you for the treatment role in SiS operations. You will also have a three-day introduction at Långanäs during your first shifts.
Qualifications
To succeed in your work, you have a solid positive view of people. You are motivated to help individuals in vulnerable life situations, and you share SiS's values of being a place for change. Furthermore, you have a good ability to create engagement and participation among our youth. As a person, you are self-assured and have a knack for building relationships with young people as well as with others in the staff group. You have good communication skills and can maintain your composure even in stressful situations. You are easy to collaborate with others and can handle conflicts constructively.
You should also have:
- A degree from a 2-year post-secondary education at a folk high school or vocational college (KY/YH) focused on social/pedagogical treatment work or an equivalent degree from a university
- A valid driver's license (B)
- Good Swedish language skills in both spoken and written form
Meritorious are:

At SiS, we value good employee engagement. This means that as an employee, you take responsibility for your work, contribute to development, and participate in good collaboration. Read more about our employee engagement.
