Skaraborg Police Area is looking for police students
Skaraborg Police Area is now seeking police students who want to work as investigators during the summer months of June to August. With us, you will develop and gain lifelong experiences together with engaged and helpful colleagues, while your work contributes to increasing safety and reducing crime in Sweden.
Region West
Police Region West consists of Halland County and Västra Götaland County. The activities in the region are organized into five police areas: Fyrbodal, Halland, Skaraborg, Storgöteborg, and Älvsborg, which are further divided into 16 local police areas. Additionally, there are three regional units: the operational unit, the intelligence unit, and the investigation unit, a regional office, and national departments represented in the region to support police operations.
Skaraborg Police Area
Skaraborg Police Area is one of five police areas in Police Region West. It spans 15 municipalities and is divided into two local police areas: western Skaraborg and eastern Skaraborg. At the police area level, there is an investigation section and a police area office.
We are now looking for police students who want to work as investigators in the on-call environment during June-August, located in Skövde or Lidköping.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
You will perform various tasks within investigations, such as conducting interviews, processing reports, handling and documenting seizures, ordering forensic examinations, conducting internal surveillance, and registering alerts. The work may also involve contact with complex cases and investigative materials that may be perceived as disturbing and unpleasant.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for candidates who meet all the requirements:
- are police students and have passed the crime investigation course with a passing grade
- have good computer skills and are quick to learn new IT systems
- have a good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish
- have a good ability to express yourself verbally in English
We consider it an advantage if you also have:
- non-Nordic language skills beyond English, where you can use the language fluently in your professional practice
Personal Qualities
We are looking for someone who is outgoing, flexible, and responsible. You should be a good representative of the police, act lawfully, and work to strengthen the authority's trust among the public, which means being service-oriented and correct. The work pace is often high, which requires resilience to stress and a good ability to prioritize. Furthermore, you need to be secure, possess great integrity, and have a high level of security awareness. The job involves both working with others and independently.
