Specialist Physician in Thoracic Anesthesia and Intensive Care

The Thoracic Vascular Clinic at Linköping University Hospital is the fourth largest thoracic surgical unit in Sweden. The clinic is part of the heart center and the operations include vascular surgery, thoracic surgery, thoracic anesthesia, and intensive care for advanced heart failure. Research and education are included as important missions. Since 2017, we have been a university hospital unit (USV clinic). Our patients primarily come from the Southeastern healthcare region. For a long time, we have been working in a process-oriented manner in close collaboration with cardiology, clinical physiology, and radiology, and also at the seldinger unit which gathers eight laboratories for catheter-based procedures.

The clinic has approximately 265 employees. In vascular surgery, XXXXX is performed annually.

Job Description

We are now looking for a specialist with experience in vascular surgery. The position includes work in our intensive care unit as well as in our operating units (thoracic surgery and the seldinger unit). We are looking for individuals who are eager to take on their own medical area of responsibility to drive and develop to meet future challenges. The choice of areas of responsibility will be made together in dialogue and can be guided by personal interest, experience, and competence. The position includes primary/on-call duties.

About You

You are a specialist physician/senior physician in anesthesia and intensive care, preferably with experience in thoracic vascular anesthesia and intensive care. In addition to clinical training, we offer the opportunity for postgraduate programs within SSAI, the intensive care program, and the targeted program for thoracic vascular anesthesia. Previous experience in intensive care, research, and being a PhD is advantageous, but not a requirement for the position.

As a person, you are stable, flexible, have good judgment, and possess strong collaboration skills. You are curious and continuously maintain your specialist knowledge. You contribute positively to the work environment at the clinic and are a knowledge resource for others.
