The Gastroenterology Clinic at Linköping University Hospital is the gastroenterological regional clinic for the Southeast Health Care Region. The clinic consists of an outpatient reception for inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), liver disease, and functional gastrointestinal disorders (neurogastroenterology), day care, inpatient ward, and endoscopy. The clinic offers healthcare, nursing, and education through competence, empathy, and fruitful research in a good working climate.

Job Description

With us, you will work as a nursing assistant in all our teams within IBD, liver, and neurogastroenterology. The reception has a close collaboration with the surgical clinic and a national mission within reconstructive surgery for IBD. Initially, you will receive a broad introduction to the operations, with the goal of later deepening your knowledge specifically in IBD and our surgical team. This gives you the opportunity to work in a highly specialized and cutting-edge environment.

As a nursing assistant with us, you will work independently with great responsibility in a varied everyday life. The work includes direct patient contact at the reception, but also contact via phone and digital e-services. Your tasks include booking and logistics regarding examinations, sample collection, and assisting in sigmoidoscopies. You will also handle administrative tasks that are an important part of the reception's flow and quality.

Research is highly prioritized at the clinic, and we conduct high-level research within all our sections. You will work with clinical studies, in close collaboration with researchers, and among other things, take and manage samples, organize patient flows, and be responsible for collecting and entering forms.

About You

You are a trained nursing assistant with a focus on healthcare.

Basic requirements for employment as a nursing assistant:

  • Approved secondary education of at least 2250 points, Health and Care Program or equivalent
  • For adult education, approved secondary education equivalent to at least 1400 points within Health and Care education or equivalent.
  • Grading criteria: At least grade E in all courses (approved).
  • It is desirable to have a diploma from certified training via the Health and Care College, applicable to both youth and adult education.

You preferably have experience in outpatient work and administrative work in Cosmic. Since you work in constant dialogue with patients and colleagues, it is a requirement that you have good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written. Pedagogical experience and good knowledge of English are meritorious.

You want to develop your professional role and acquire a wealth of knowledge. You enjoy working independently and with varied tasks. As a person, you are positive, independent, flexible, proactive, and have a desire to develop the business together with other team members. You also have the ability to plan, prioritize, and structure your work. You have good collaboration skills, are goal-oriented, and responsible. We work closely together and need good communication to successfully solve the tasks we encounter in everyday life. Thus, the position suits you if you thrive in collaboration and are responsive and communicative with both colleagues, patients, and relatives.
