Do you want to play a key role in the development of a completely new system? The solution will be used throughout police operations – by the investigator, intelligence analyst, or HR specialist. Seize this unique opportunity!

The National Support Systems group is organized within the police IT department and is responsible for a wide range of systems, including the agency's learning platform, intranet, and weapon simulators. The group is also exploring how VR and AI can be utilized to better support the Police Authority's training needs.

We are now in the process of developing a completely new system related to various forms used in police operations. The forms may, for example, aim to assist the investigator in their work or in connection with the handling of reports of concern and similar matters in police work. For this work, we need a responsible IT project manager with strong technical skills and the ability to lead software development efforts. You also need experience and the ability to create broad anchoring work in large organizations.

Our workplace is located in Kungsholmen, Stockholm, and you have the opportunity to work from home two days a week when the work allows.

Job Responsibilities

In your role as project manager, you will have the opportunity to lead the technical development of a new development project within the police authority. The system will be used throughout police operations and play an important role in the police's crime-fighting mission and contribute to an effective police operation. In addition to this system, you will be involved in other products managed by the group.

As a project manager, your main responsibilities may include:

  • Coordinating and driving assignments within the framework of the development project
  • Coordinating work between different groups within the IT department, other parts of the organization, and external parties
  • Conducting and ensuring needs analyses based on the organization's needs
  • Maintaining and steering development efforts within the product area
  • Leading workshops and meetings to drive IT projects forward
  • Working with/reporting to involved steering groups or other reference groups (which may be represented by stakeholder groups across the entire police organization)

Within the police IT department, all groups act as product owners, which means responsibility for the entire product lifecycle, including new development, further development, and management/support. You will work closely with a software developer and according to an agile working method.

You will have good opportunities to put your stamp on your professional role and working methods, and contribute strategically to the product's development and future direction, where you engage in creative dialogues with the organization and handle technical challenges.

Qualifications

This is an opportunity for you who have:

  • Relevant post-secondary education in IT or equivalent acquired experience that the Police Authority considers relevant.
  • Several years of recent professional experience coordinating and structuring assignments in a complex IT environment, focusing on software development, for example in a role as project manager, product owner, business analyst/requirements analyst, or similar.
  • Strong technical skills and understanding of software development, such as system integrations/APIs, IT security, accessibility, performance/scalability, etc.

You need to have a very good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish and a good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in English.

The position requires Swedish citizenship.

It is meritorious if you also have:

  • Experience working with requirements analysis/business analysis in connection with IT development or have worked in a UX role, preferably with good skills in mockups/prototypes/MVPs.
  • Good skills in facilitating workshops or driving similar forums for requirements gathering and processing.
  • Experience working with requirements specification of IT systems within the public sector and/or other operations that are strongly governed by regulations and legislation.
  • Experience working as a solutions architect/IT architect, and/or software developer.
