Optometrist at the Eye Clinic in Gävle

The Eye Department provides acute and planned ophthalmic care with outpatient and surgical services as well as vision rehabilitation. At the eye clinic in Gävle, we are about 50 employees who together conduct both outpatient and surgical operations. We work in a well-equipped clinic with high patient volumes. The professions included in the team are doctors, ophthalmic nurses, registered nurses, nursing assistants, optometrists, orthoptists, and medical secretaries. At the clinic, you will work in a technical environment with a strong focus on patients. Therefore, we are looking for you, a technology-interested optometrist, to complement our team.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

At the eye clinic, we have many varied tasks that make the job both stimulating and developing. As an optometrist, you will work with your own patients and prepare them for various examinations and treatments. You will meet patients ranging from visual field examinations and OCT to advice via phone and digital advice through Min vård Gävleborg.

Main Responsibilities

• own clinic focusing on glaucoma and ocular hypertension, but also other patient categories
• spider clinic with glaucoma doctors with independent assessment
• manage bandage contact lenses and removal of cilia
• prepare patients for doctor visits, including visual field tests, applanation tonometry, OCT, and biometry
• prepare patients for injection treatments for Anti-VEGF
• phone advice and digital advice via Mina vårdkontakter and Min vård Gävleborg.

To succeed in this role, we prefer that you are flexible, with the ability to adapt to changing circumstances and see opportunities in change. You have strong collaboration skills, are attentive, and communicate clearly with different professional categories. You are driven and ambitious, take responsibility for your work, and want to develop. Additionally, you are problem-solving and approach challenges with a constructive attitude.

To succeed in this role, you must be

• a licensed optometrist.

It is an advantage if you have a master's degree. If you have experience in outpatient work and a few years of experience as an optometrist, that is also an advantage.
