Kiruna Lappland operates the authorized tourist center in Kiruna and is responsible for guided tours to LKAB's Visitor Centre in the world's largest underground iron ore mine. We are now looking for a tourist information officer with special responsibility for our mine tours, a key role in our daily operations.

About the role

As a tourist information officer, you will work to inform, inspire, and help visitors find the right experiences in Kiruna and the surrounding area.

In the role of mine tour manager, you will have overall responsibility for planning, administration, and execution of our guided tours to the visitor mine. It is a varied role where structure, problem-solving, and good communication are crucial.

Responsibilities

• Inform and guide visitors at the desk, via phone, and email
• Promote Kiruna's tourist offerings and book activities
• Cash handling, information searching, and ongoing administration
• Plan and administer tours to LKAB's Visitor Centre
• Book private groups and coordinate guides
• Work in booking systems and manage contact with bus companies
• Perform simple financial reconciliations
• Resolve problems that arise along the way, quickly, calmly, and professionally
• Guide visitors in the mine (mandatory guide training will take place in May)

We are looking for someone who is confident, enjoys responsibility, and thrives when the pace varies. You are organized, flexible, and have good communication skills. You have:

• Very good Swedish and English in both spoken and written form
• Strong service orientation and good social skills
• Ability to work independently and make your own decisions
• A structured working method and attention to detail
• Interest in Kiruna and the mine
• At least 18 years old

Meritorious

• Experience in administrative work
• Previous guiding experience
• Work in the tourism, service, or hospitality industry
• Additional language skills, such as German or French
