About Piteå Parish
Piteå Parish stretches from forest landscapes to a vast archipelago. A parish with nearly 20,000 members and over 55 employees. The parish includes five churches, two of which are cooperative churches with EFS, five chapels, and eight burial sites, five of which are active. Piteå Parish is an active and engaged part of the Church of Sweden. We have a strong community commitment and collaborate closely with schools and other stakeholders. Our activities, based on the core values of presence, openness, and hope, are conducted for people of all ages. Would you like to tell the story of Piteå's rich history?
Piteå Parish is looking for two guides for the summer of 2026, primarily based in Öjeby church town.
You will guide visitors and share the exciting history of our buildings in Öjeby Church, the church town, and Piteå Church. In Öjeby church town, there is the Gammelgården museum, the parish's church cottage, and the church town café. In the church town, there is also the children's activity Smulan, where you will meet children and families going on adventures in the church town. You will receive materials and information from us during your introduction.
Responsibilities
- Guiding in our churches and church town.
- Creating content for our social media.
- Some cleaning.
- Assisting in the Church Town Café in the S:t Mary house as needed.
Qualifications
- At least 18 years old.
- Able to work independently.
- Responsible and able to take initiative.
- Good language skills in Swedish, English, and preferably German.
- Familiar with and supportive of the Church of Sweden's values.
- Driving license B.
We place great importance on personal suitability.
Conditions and Employment Period
- Period: June 17 – July 31
- Working hours: 87.5%, 7 hours per day. Work is scheduled on weekdays and the weekend of June 27-28.
- A criminal record check will be requested before employment.
- Salary and compensation: According to collective agreement.
