Would you like to contribute to Sweden's food sampling program?
We are looking for someone who also wants to work on developing the system support for our program planning and reporting.
Your role
In your role with us, you will primarily work with issues related to Sweden's food sampling program. Currently, we have national sampling programs in the following areas: pharmaceutical residues, salmonella, undesirable substances, pesticide residues, and quality characteristics of olive oil. The work involves planning, coordinating, reporting, and evaluating our sampling programs together with your colleagues. The job requires a high level of independence and initiative, and there will be a lot of contact within and outside the authority. Working on IT development of our system support, which among other things will support us in program planning and reporting, is also an integral part of the tasks. There is also work involved in annually planning the financial conditions for the upcoming year's program and handling invoicing.
Other general tasks include providing guidance and answering questions from food companies and control authorities. You support and collaborate with your colleagues and participate in various assignments and projects.
You, together with your colleagues, take responsibility for the organization's common assignments and resources as well as the needs of target groups. Furthermore, you make thoughtful priorities in your work and deliver according to set goals. You monitor the external environment to gather new perspectives, maintain relevant competence, and adapt your work to the organization's requirements and conditions.
The Unit for Drinking Water and Chemical Substances
The unit consists of 13 employees and we handle issues related to Sweden's sampling program, drinking water quality, and other issues concerning chemical substances such as dietary supplements, additives, materials in contact with food, new foods, and more. Facilitating for companies to do the right thing is one of the Swedish Food Agency's prioritized goals. We also support control authorities and other stakeholders in the issues that the unit and department work with. With us, you will participate in ensuring that the food we eat is safe, that drinking water is healthy and clean, and that neither companies nor consumers are deceived or misled.
Your competence
We are looking for someone who has a university/college degree, preferably with a scientific orientation. You must have at least three years of relevant work experience for the position. We would like you to have experience in developing system support and working within IT projects and digitalization. We hope you have experience in laboratory work. It is an advantage if you have experience working with food control, food companies, or food issues. If you also have experience in project management, project coordination, or have held a coordinating role, this is also a merit. We view positively if you have experience working with economic and budget issues and have experience working in a government agency. You must have good language skills in both Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
Your personal qualities
To succeed in your work, you act responsibly, collaboratively, and developmentally. You are solution-focused and invite and are open to collaborations and new perspectives that improve our deliveries. You enjoy working in a team and are open to new working methods, sharing knowledge and lessons to strengthen our collective ability.
As a person, you enjoy working and planning independently. You can navigate a large flow of tasks as you have the ability to see both the big picture and pay attention to details. You have a good initiative, are analytical, and like to contribute to creating results. To be successful in the job, you need to be accustomed to both written and oral tasks. You have the ability to easily and pedagogically convey and communicate the unit's efforts in various contexts.
