Operational Support

Traffic and Society is part of Region Uppsala, one of the largest employers in Uppsala County. Our administration employs approximately 110 staff members. Our mission is to develop and manage sustainable transport for a growing Uppsala County. We develop, among other things, the infrastructure and public transport within the county. Under the brand UL, public transport is operated in collaboration with contracted transport companies. Our employees have a wide range of competencies and work in areas such as operational development, procurement, urban planning, traffic planning, system management, finance, communication, sales, and customer service.

Our Operations

We are now looking for a substitute for the position of operational developer, a development-oriented and proactive person who will lead investigations and assignments within the Traffic and Society administration. Traffic and Society is responsible for the public transport operated under the UL brand, serving thousands of travelers every day in a growing county. The position is located in the Operational Support department. The department is responsible for operational development, project management, operational governance, and civil preparedness. We are 12 employees and play an important role in working across departments to create conditions for the organization to deliver.

Your Assignment

As an operational developer, you will identify development needs and drive and support various types of change initiatives and development activities. Your assignments will vary and be both strategic and operational in nature. You are the one who sees what can or must be done and ensures that it happens. You help the organization identify opportunities for development, quality assurance, and efficiency improvements, and work towards a developed culture of improvement within the organization. In your job, you work together with the organization to identify and implement improvements. You are responsible for analyzing work processes with employees in various operational areas and driving assignments that lead to a better work environment, more efficient operations, and improved delivery to our travelers throughout the county.

Examples of Tasks

• Conduct process mapping and measure and follow up on process efficiency.
• Conduct feasibility studies and investigations aimed at developing the organization.
• Lead assignments and projects.

Your Qualifications

You have a university degree in e.g., economics, leadership and organization, industrial economics, or equivalent experience that we consider comparable. You have several years of relevant experience in operational development and change management, where you have developed and implemented new working methods and streamlined work processes. You have documented experience in driving larger assignments and operational development projects. You have knowledge of process mapping. You speak and write Swedish fluently.

You have a holistic perspective where you see how different needs and solutions interconnect and form a whole. You thrive in a role with varied assignments where you are responsible for making things happen.

The position is a temporary contract starting in February and lasting until December 31, 2026. Our modern office is located in the heart of Uppsala, directly adjacent to Uppsala Travel Center.
