Department of Economics and Management

The management office of Region Uppsala is part of Region Uppsala, one of the largest employers in Uppsala County. The management office is led by the regional director and consists of about one thousand employees. With a governing, supportive, and coordinating role, the management office is tasked with supporting the political leadership and administrations so that the political direction is reflected in the region's various activities. Our Operations

The Property and Service Administration is responsible for planning, developing, and managing the region's property portfolio, which includes hospitals, health centers, administrative buildings, and vehicle depots for public transport.

We are now looking for a property economist who wants to contribute to sustainable and efficient economic management of the region's property portfolio. You will play a central role in analyzing, monitoring, and developing the economy of the region's properties and investment projects.

Your Assignment

As a property economist, you will work with economic planning, monitoring, and analysis of the property portfolio and investment activities. You will work closely with the operations and actively participate in calculations and long-term investment plans, as well as monitoring, budgeting, and forecasting work. Monitoring the external environment in the field is also part of your duties.

Examples of tasks:

  • Analyze cost development and key figures
  • Participate in economic assessments for new, renovation, and extension projects
  • Prepare decision-making and supporting materials
  • Support with economic analyses, calculations, and property economic investigations
  • Contribute to the development of routines, processes, and economic models within the property area

You will have many internal contacts, primarily within Property and Service, but also with the region's other economists and strategists.

Your Qualifications

  • University degree in economics or other education deemed equivalent by the employer.
  • Several years of experience in qualified economic work, preferably within public property management or companies with similar assignments.
  • Good analytical ability and understanding of property economic relationships; rental, operating, and maintenance costs as well as investment expenses.
  • Good knowledge of Excel and economic and property systems
  • Ability to work systematically, independently, and with good collaboration skills.
