Goals and purpose of the initiative
The project The Network in collaboration with Uppsala Municipality aims to support individuals who are far from the labor market by strengthening their skills and confidence in job searching and language development. Participants will receive:
- Support in writing CVs and cover letters
- Opportunities for language/interview training and conversation exercises
- The chance to visit job fairs and workplaces
- Participation in cultural events and social activities
- Individually tailored support based on the participant's needs and wishes
Target group and prerequisites
The project is aimed at individuals who are far from the labor market, including:
- Job seekers
- Individuals with a mother tongue other than Swedish who want to strengthen their language skills
- Individuals who need support in the job search process
- No prerequisites required – we tailor the initiative according to the participants' needs
Content
The Network offers a mix of activities to support participants:
- Individual and group-based guidance in job searching and personal development
- Workshops on CVs, cover letters, and interview training
- Practical language training through conversation exercises and interactive tasks
- Lectures and meetings with union representatives to deepen knowledge about the labor market.
- Participation in cultural activities and events at ABF to strengthen community and motivation
- Flexible setup – the content is adapted based on participants' wishes
Duration and schedule of the initiative
- Starts in March 2026, with the possibility to join continuously
- The initiative runs until December 16, 2025
- Meetings are held regularly with flexible times based on participants' needs
Job responsibilities for these positions
The applicant will play a central role in supporting and guiding participants who are far from the labor market. Responsibilities include:
🔹 Conduct outreach work in the neighborhoods of Stenhagen and Gränby to find and engage participants
🔹 Collaborate with other actors such as the municipality, cultural centers, and associations
🔹 Adapt the content of the meetings based on participants' wishes and needs
🔹 Plan and lead group meetings focusing on job searching, language training, and motivation
🔹 Guide participants individually in writing CVs, cover letters, and preparing for job interviews
🔹 Organize and participate in activities such as study visits, job fairs, and cultural events
🔹 Support participants' language development, both in everyday situations and in job contexts
🔹 Create a safe and inclusive environment where participants can develop and strengthen themselves
🔹 Document and follow up on participants' development in accordance with the project's goals
🔹 Participate in mandatory circle leader training to gain tools and methods for popular education pedagogy
We are looking for someone who:
✅ Has experience in popular education, pedagogy, social work, or labor market issues.
✅ Has contacts and networks in Stenhagen and Gränby where the project will primarily be based.
✅ Is willing to travel between neighborhoods.
✅ Is good at motivating and supporting individuals who are far from the labor market.
✅ Has good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written. Knowledge of additional languages is an advantage.
✅ Is structured and flexible, and can adapt the initiative according to participants' needs.
✅ Has experience in job or study search processes, such as writing CVs and preparing for interviews.
✅ Has worked with language training for second language speakers (advantageous).
✅ Has experience working with people in vulnerable situations.
✅ Shares the fundamental values of the labor movement.
✅ Is willing to work some weekends.
✅ Is participating in mandatory circle leader training at ABF.
✅ Has good computer skills and can work with the Office suite.

The position is a part-time employment of up to 10 hours a week (25%) until 20261216, with flexible working hours. We hope you can start working in March. Salary to be agreed upon. Interviews are conducted on an ongoing basis.
