Teaching Assistant with Diabetes Knowledge

Do you want to be a safe adult in school and use your diabetes knowledge in a meaningful job? Then this could be the right position for you. You will support a student in grade 2 and contribute to safety, participation, and learning during both school hours and after-school activities.

The school is located in beautiful Torshälla, close to both nature and culture. We have approximately 830 students from preschool to grade nine.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a teaching assistant, you will have a special responsibility to support a student in grade 2 who has diabetes. This includes tasks related to diabetes, such as carbohydrate counting, weighing, and actions in response to abnormal blood sugar levels. Support is primarily needed during breaks, physical education, after-school activities, and other situations with higher activity levels. During other times, you will be a resource in the classroom where needed. After school hours, you will work in the after-school program and contribute to a safe and stimulating environment for the students.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with good knowledge of diabetes, either through professional experience or personal experience from private life. You have completed and passed your high school education and feel confident taking responsibility in everyday situations related to diabetes. Previous experience as a teaching assistant is an advantage. Above all, we value that you are calm, attentive, and can create a sense of security for the students around you. You are flexible and can adapt to the student's needs and the various situations of the program.
