Violin Teacher Wanted at Eskilstuna Cultural School

Do you want more children and young people to discover the joy of music? With us, you will have the opportunity to work in a creative environment where we enjoy our work and have fun together. We are now looking for a teacher to instruct in violin.

Eskilstuna Cultural School is open to children and young people in the Eskilstuna municipality and offers lessons from age 5 and up. Here, we nurture and stimulate curiosity, creativity, and the desire to learn. We offer a broad foundation and openness where everyone should feel welcome to try out and discover an interest. We have subject courses in music, film, visual arts, theater, musical theater, and dance.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a violin teacher with us, you will meet children and young people from six years old up to high school. You will inspire joy in playing, build technique, and create a sense of security in your interactions with each student. Teaching occurs both individually and in groups, and you will lead ensembles and orchestral contexts where collaboration is at the center. We have good instruments available that provide you with excellent conditions for teaching. Once a week, on Tuesdays, you will play together with the Eskilstuna Symphony Orchestra. The role also includes close dialogue with guardians and collaboration with other schools, departments within the administration, and community organizations. You will manage scheduling and documentation in the cultural school's operational system, StudyAlong, and contribute to ensuring that daily operations run smoothly for both students and colleagues.

The working hours are varied and scheduled for daytime, afternoon, and evening, with weekend work as needed. To help you feel secure in your role, you will receive a mentor who supports you during your introduction and when needed. You will be part of an engaged string team with six colleagues in violin, cello, and double bass, where collaboration, orchestral playing, and joint development are a natural part of the work.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who has completed high school education. If you have an academic degree as an instrumental pedagogue with a focus on violin or other string instruments, we consider that an advantage. The same applies if you have experience in group instrumental teaching or leading ensembles and orchestras. A B driver's license is an advantage. You express yourself well in Swedish, both spoken and written, and feel comfortable using digital tools and IT support in your daily work.

You enjoy collaborating with others and contribute energy, commitment, and a positive presence in the organization. You are attentive and empathetic, meeting each student based on their conditions, curiosity, and musicality. Experience in pedagogical work with children and young people is valuable, as is knowledge of modern teaching literature and current pedagogical methods. We warmly welcome your application!
