SÄS Introduction for Newly Graduated Nurses

We want to give you the best possible start in your new career as a nurse and lay the foundation for your future development, which is why we offer you a unique introduction and the opportunity to safely transition into your role.

The SÄS introduction for newly graduated nurses is based on the strengthened professional introduction from the Västra Götaland region, the Clinical Basic Year. However, SÄS is unique in that our introduction also builds on the following five fundamental conditions:

• Independent work with your own professional responsibility as a licensed nurse
• Customized tasks and workload
• Support from an experienced nurse
• Education and clinical training
• Reflection

About the Position Introduction at the Care Unit

Do you, as a nurse, want a safe and developing start to your career in a permanent position with us at SÄS?

The SÄS introduction for newly graduated nurses lasts for one year and begins with a 12-week introduction schedule. The introduction schedule means that you share a schedule line with an experienced nurse. You will perform independent tasks based on your individual development plan with tasks and workload tailored to you, allowing you to gradually ramp up and grow into your new role. At each work shift, we ensure that there is an assigned experienced colleague you can turn to for questions and support. At the end of your 12 weeks with the introduction schedule, an assessment will be made regarding the need for continued support based on your individual development.

For the remaining part of your first year, you will work independently in your care unit. During this period, you will have recurring mentoring time with an experienced nurse who supports your professional development. In parallel with your clinical work, you will participate in an educational program together with other newly graduated nurses at SÄS. After one year, you will have completed your introduction and acquired relevant knowledge and necessary skills, allowing you to feel secure in your continued professional practice as a nurse in your care unit.

Psychiatry Department 4

We are a subspecialized care unit for psychotic disorders and PTSD, and we have a close collaboration with the psychiatric outpatient clinic for psychosis PTSD. Some of our priority areas are to provide patients with safe and secure care and to reduce the number of involuntarily hospitalized patients. We provide care for patients voluntarily based on HSL and under compulsory legislation, LPT. As a person, you are positive and flexible. You are not afraid of challenges and are committed to providing good care and working on the development of patient care.

We are looking for you who are a newly graduated nurse with less than 4 months of professional experience in the field. As a person, you are curious and strive to grow and develop in your professional role. We value good collaboration and your ability to create good relationships. You enjoy working in a varied everyday life and have the ability to switch to independent work as you become confident in your tasks. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

Other
