Beroendecentrum Stockholm is Sweden's largest addiction clinic. We provide support and assistance to individuals with problems related to alcohol, drugs, medication, or gambling. Our services include acute and inpatient care, local outpatient care, and highly specialized treatment. We are also a clinic that conducts university healthcare as well as research and education.

We are now looking for a nurse for ward 54 located at St Göran's Hospital, which belongs to the section for acute and inpatient care at Beroendecentrum Stockholm.

The ward is a specialized inpatient unit consisting of 22 beds where we care for patients under the care forms HSL, LPT, and LVM, with psychiatric and somatic conditions related to problematic consumption or dependence on alcohol.

We work in care teams consisting of nurses, caregivers/nursing assistants, and doctors. The ward is also a clinical training ward, which means you may encounter students from various professions with us. If you are a trained nurse with an interest in addiction care and are looking for a varied job that includes both psychiatric and somatic care, you could be the one we are looking for!

The Work

As a nurse, you will have a highly varied and stimulating job where great importance is placed on personal responsibility as well as collegial collaboration. Based on the nursing process, you will be responsible for the patient's care together with doctors, nursing assistants, and care coordinators. You are part of the patient's social planning and contribute to a good care chain with other actors. Your daily work includes both psychiatric and somatic care, which encompasses everything from supportive conversations to withdrawal assessments and treatment. You will also utilize your medical technical skills in situations such as sedation due to withdrawal, wound dressing, catheter insertion, and intravenous treatment. With us, no two days are the same due to the combination of patients' individual circumstances and the general length of stay of 2-3 days.

Employment Type

Permanent employment, full-time. Day/evening 38.15 hours/week. We work two weekends out of five. A probationary period may apply.

Selection and interviews are conducted on an ongoing basis. Beroendecentrum Stockholm applies alcohol and drug testing as well as background checks before hiring. The position is filled on the condition that it is not needed for internal relocation, according to current regulations.
