We are now looking for a group manager/psychologist for the Forensic Psychiatric Examination Unit in Stockholm, located near Huddinge Hospital.

Your assignment

As the group manager for the psychology group, you will work with leadership, have personnel and budget responsibilities, participate in the unit's management team, and work with quality, follow-up, and business development. As a psychologist, you will work with clinical tasks through the investigations carried out by the unit. You will collaborate closely with other professionals within the forensic psychiatric department in both the managerial and psychological roles.

The National Board of Forensic Medicine has received two new assignments – to conduct risk assessments on behalf of the Prison and Probation Service regarding conditional release and to carry out special risk investigations regarding security sentences on behalf of the court. The organization and structure of the unit will be shaped over the next year together with clients and employees. The assignments will take effect on January 1, 2026, and March 1, 2026, respectively. To meet an increased case load and new tasks, we will recruit several new employees during 2026.

Qualifications

  • You are a licensed psychologist
  • You have many years of experience working with psychological assessments

Meritorious

  • Experience in forensic psychiatric investigation activities
  • Experience in business development, management assignments, or from a managerial role in the public sector

Personal qualities and abilities

You are interested in the managerial role and its administrative and strategic aspects. As a manager, you need to be able to collaborate and create dialogue with colleagues and employees within the authority. You also need to have the ability to take initiative and build trust.

Employment

Permanent employment that may begin with a six-month probationary period, start date by agreement, and placement at the forensic psychiatric examination unit in Stockholm.

This is a combined position with responsibilities both as a group manager and as a psychologist.

The authority's units are located in various places in Sweden, which means that travel in the job may occur. The National Board of Forensic Medicine applies individual salary setting.

Based on the needs of the unit, there is the possibility to enter into an individual agreement regarding remote work for part of the working hours.

The Department of Forensic Psychiatry investigates on behalf of the court whether a person suspected of a crime committed it under the influence of a serious mental disorder. We also conduct risk assessments when life-sentenced individuals apply for a time-limited sentence. The Department of Forensic Psychiatry consists of two forensic psychiatric examination units located in Stockholm and Gothenburg, as well as the coordination unit located at the headquarters in Stockholm.
