Our Operations

The Acute and Consult Psychiatry Section consists of the adult psychiatry emergency department, which operates around the clock, a psychiatric acute care ward (PAVA) with 12 beds, and the PAM unit. Patients come to the emergency department around the clock via self-referral/visit but also with police, ambulance, correctional services, and from other healthcare institutions. As a nurse in the emergency department, you are responsible for leadership, coordination, and monitoring patient flow, performing an acute initial assessment and triage of patients.

Patients who need a shorter or longer period of care are admitted to the psychiatric acute care ward. The length of stay in PAVA is approximately 1 - 3 days, after which patients are either discharged or transferred to another ward in the building if they require a longer stay. Here we work in teams, and you will be responsible for a maximum of 6 patients together with caregivers and collaborate with the other team on the ward in a shared overall responsibility for the patients.

Your Mission

As a nurse, you always work with the patient in focus. You actively participate in nursing work and plan and lead it, assess the patient's acute psychiatric and somatic condition, and manage medication, sampling, examinations, and record-keeping of patients' conditions. You contribute a nursing perspective in the interdisciplinary team. Your area of responsibility also includes quality development of psychiatric nursing.

Your Qualifications

We are looking for a new colleague who is a licensed nurse and has a bachelor's degree in nursing. Interested in acute psychiatric nursing, where you will work daily to assess and care for patients seeking urgent help. You are interested in working in an operation with a broad area, where you will personally develop in your role as a nurse.

We Offer

We place great importance on ensuring that you feel secure in your role as a nurse and with your tasks. Therefore, we see that your first six months consist of an individualized introduction with gradually increasing responsibility and stepwise competence development. Depending on your experience, we will build your introduction together for the best results. We start the introduction in the ward, PAVA, and then you will also be introduced to the outpatient department, allowing you to switch between inpatient and emergency care.

If you are newly graduated, you are also offered to participate in a clinical development year (KUÅ) for 20% of your working time in your first year.

We offer a permanent full-time position.

Individual scheduling where we are part of the academic hospital's point model, which means a lower weekly working time based on the shifts you work. Inpatient care supplement of 2000 SEK or an extra enhanced rotation supplement for night shifts of 4000 SEK.
