Project Assistant for the Labor Market and Integration Unit, ESF Project Health Boost

You want to give people a good everyday life. And a richer life. Just like we do.

Are you an engaged and structured person with an interest in promoting people's health? Do you want to contribute to initiatives that make a difference for both individuals and society at large? Then this could be the position for you.

The Labor Market and Integration Unit is responsible for several socially important missions within Sundbyberg municipality. The activities include receiving newcomers, summer and holiday jobs for youth, working with young people under the city's activity responsibility (KAA), outreach activities for young adults aged 16–24 who are neither studying nor working, and support for job seekers receiving financial assistance.

The work is based on a holistic perspective on the individual and is carried out in close collaboration with other units and external actors for preventive purposes.

The Labor Market and Integration Unit has been granted funding from the Swedish ESF Council for a two-year project, Health Boost, focusing on health-promoting initiatives. The project targets individuals who are relevant to the unit aged 16–64, including those receiving financial assistance. The aim is to strengthen participants' mental and physical health, reduce social isolation, and increase their opportunities to take steps towards work or studies.

As a project assistant, you are a central part of the project team and work closely with the project manager. You participate in planning, implementation, and follow-up of the project's initiatives. The work involves contact with participants from diverse backgrounds and needs, many of whom are far from the labor market.

The role also involves collaboration both internally within Sundbyberg municipality and externally with other actors to create long-term and cohesive support for the target group.

Your Responsibilities

As a project assistant, your tasks include:

  • Planning, leading, and implementing health-promoting activities and group meetings
  • Creating and maintaining trusting relationships with participants
  • Supporting the project team in planning, coordination, and development of the project's initiatives
  • Collaborating with internal and external actors, such as healthcare providers, community organizations, and other operations within Sundbyberg municipality
  • Participating in follow-up, documentation, surveys, and focus groups
  • Contributing to a safe, inclusive, and motivating environment for participants

We want you to have a genuine commitment to working with people and to contribute to strengthening individuals who are far from the labor market. You are attentive, secure in your professional role, and have experience in meeting individuals with different life situations and backgrounds.

We also want you to have:

  • A university degree, for example in public health, social sciences, or another education deemed equivalent by the employer
  • Experience working with target groups that are far from the labor market, such as in labor market initiatives, social work, integration, or health
  • Experience leading group activities, workshops, or guiding conversations
  • Good ability to motivate, create participation, and build relationships
  • Good administrative skills and experience with documentation
  • Knowledge in public health, health-promoting methods, pedagogy, or social work is an advantage
  • It is an advantage if you speak more languages than Swedish

We Offer

  • A meaningful and developing job where you contribute to concrete improvements in people's lives
  • The opportunity to work in a two-year ESF project focusing on health, empowerment, and social inclusion
  • An engaged team and close collaboration with other operations within and outside Sundbyberg municipality

The position is a fixed-term project employment during the project's two-year ESF period. The employment is full-time. Start date according to agreement. The last application date is January 12, 2026. We do not accept applications via email.
