About us

Storlien Högfjällshotell opened in 1935 and has a rich history of mountain tourism. In winter 2023, the hotel reopened after four years of closed doors with new owners, new energy, and big ambitions. The hotel is located in Storlien, about an hour from Åre, surrounded by magnificent mountain landscapes, distinct seasons, and a tranquility that many dream of.

The hotel includes a ski resort, cross-country and snowmobile trails, hiking paths, fishing waters, and in the village, there is a vibrant little community with a preschool, shops, and restaurants. This is not just a job; it is a lifestyle choice.

About the role

We are looking for a head chef for our year-round kitchen team who wants more than just to run a kitchen. You want to create a culinary journey, build a kitchen team, and help develop our overall food concept, from our daily a la carte & hotel dinner to events, special dining experiences, and future initiatives.

Here, there is great creative freedom and the opportunity to leave your mark within our desired direction. Together with our restaurant manager and other colleagues, you will shape menus, working methods, and ambitions, always with guest experience in focus.

You are as comfortable in the creative as in the structural; taste, ingredients, and craftsmanship are combined with profitability, quality, and a safe and warm leadership.

Your mission

  • Create and develop menus for the restaurant, events, and culinary experiences as part of our activity offerings
  • Build, lead, and develop the kitchen team
  • Be responsible for kitchen budget, scheduling, and orders
  • Ensure quality, self-control, and a good working environment
  • Participate in recruitment together with the HR manager
  • Actively contribute to the overall experience and hospitality of the hotel

Who are you?

  • You have good experience as a head chef or kitchen manager or many years of experience in relevant responsible roles and are ready for the next step.
  • You are driven by creative cooking and are well-versed in Nordic cuisine
  • You want to help build something long-term, not just maintain
  • You are a clear leader who creates engagement in the team
  • You thrive in a mountain environment and are attracted to a life close to nature
