Do you want to help improve social services? The implementation of the new social services act needs your structure, drive, and strategic vision.
A new social services act came into force on July 1, 2025. To meet the legislation's requirements for a knowledge-based, accessible, and sustainable social service, current operations will need to be developed and adapted. We are now looking for someone to coordinate and lead the municipality's work towards a transition to the new social services act.
In Finspång municipality, the authority's exercise and operational activities under the social services act are organized into two sectors: social care sector and health and care sector.
Your assignment is overarching and covers all areas within social services. You will work on behalf of a steering group consisting of the social manager and the health and care manager. Your immediate supervisor is the social manager.
Your future tasks
In the role of project manager, you will coordinate and lead the municipality's efforts to adapt operations to the intentions of the new social services act, which aims to create a long-term, sustainable, more preventive, and knowledge-based social service. You will work based on the developed transition plan to implement the new Social Services Act throughout the municipality.
The position will be filled based on the necessary decisions made within the municipality.
You will provide support to the sector's employees in the transition to the new social services act.
The position is a permanent employment, and after the project year, there may be an extension of the project or you will work with other tasks within the scope of your employment.
The role also includes
- Mapping needs and conditions for the transition to a new social services act.
- Planning, leading, and implementing the changes to be carried out locally related to the transition.
- Communicating ongoing work internally within the organization and, in some cases, also to the politicians.
- Preparing materials to implement the new social services act in practice.
- Being responsible for training sessions and professional development in the area.
- Monitoring the external environment, participating in various networks both locally and regionally.
The assignment may develop and change during the transition based on needs and decisions made.
Who are you?
We are looking for someone with a degree in social work or another completed higher education that the employer assesses as equivalent.
Good knowledge of the current social services act as well as good knowledge of the new social services act and the changes that are underway.
You are development-oriented, curious, and creative while also being structured and clear. You see the big picture, consider the broader perspective, and contribute to good collaboration by having an open, accommodating, and problem-solving approach. You actively listen, invite dialogue, and adapt your communication based on the situations you are in.
Experience as a project manager is an advantage, as well as knowledge and experience in change management.
Experience from several areas within social services, such as authority exercise and implementation, is also an advantage.
A driving license (B) is a requirement.
