We are now looking for an economist for the Department of Behavioral Sciences and Learning (IBL).

About the job

As an economist, you will be part of the institution's financial function alongside controllers, economists, and financial administrators. The group's mission is to work as a supportive and advisory function in financial matters for department heads, research leaders, project managers, and the institution's management. The financial function is responsible for budget and financial closing work at both the institutional and departmental levels. You will work with the financial management of research projects. This includes budget and forecasting work, cost follow-ups, reconciliations with project leaders, and financial reporting to funders, both national and EU projects. The work also involves operational follow-up through qualified forecasts and analyses. Additionally, the function is responsible for reviewing and establishing agreements related to research assignments and project collaborations. This means you will support the operations in contractual matters, ensure clear financial terms, and follow up on compliance with the agreements during the projects.

About you

The work requires an independent approach where you drive, support, and advise relevant managers and researchers. Therefore, we are looking for someone who is clear, has good collaboration skills, and a knack for building good relationships. Additionally, you are structured and have the ability to plan, organize, and prioritize your work in a quality-conscious and efficient manner.

We want you to have:

  • At least three years of academic education in economics or another education that the employer deems equivalent.
  • Good knowledge and experience working in Excel.
  • Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
  • Strong ability to search for relevant information in IT systems and then structure, compile, analyze, and present it in a systematic and pedagogical manner.

It is an advantage if you have:

  • Experience in qualified economic work.
  • Experience in economic work from a university or college.

Your workplace

IBL operates in both Norrköping and Linköping. This position is located in Norrköping or Linköping, and you are expected to work regularly at both of our campuses.

You will belong to the Department of Operational Support, where you will be surrounded by a network of knowledgeable colleagues who often work in teams.
