We are looking for a Nurse for the Southern Skåne Regiment's Combat Unit
We are seeking you who want to serve as a nurse in the Southern Skåne Regiment's combat unit both within and outside Sweden's borders. In the role of nurse, you will contribute with skills and expertise in the care of the injured, triage, resuscitation, and daily healthcare within the battalion's framework.
You will be employed as a Reserve Officer under the support of §20 of the Officers Ordinance, which means you will be activated for service during exercises, training, and missions in and outside Sweden within the framework of Land NATO Latvia, LNLV. Upon employment, a personal service plan will be established for upcoming training, exercises, and missions. Otherwise, you will have another main occupation.
Medical Platoon
The main task of the Medical Platoon is to constitute the battalion's most qualified medical resource through medical evacuation, care of the injured/sick, daily healthcare, and longer care for minor injuries/illnesses.
The Medical Platoon is part of the combat units belonging to the Southern Skåne Regiment, P7, and is located in Revingehed. We are looking for you who want to work as a nurse in our care group. The position requires close cooperation with the platoon's other healthcare providers and doctors.
Main Responsibilities
Work in a care group is characterized by limited resources under field conditions with little time. You will independently treat the sick based on the patient's individual needs and medical condition. The position includes performing resuscitation and damage-limiting measures to save lives and care for the injured. As a nurse in the care group, you will have to make quick decisions to save lives.
Common tasks for a nurse in the care group include:
- Providing care for patients with a care duration of up to 3 days.
- Performing pre-hospital care with limited resources
- Managing disaster bleeding and ensuring airway/breathing function
- Preparing patients for transport and handover to the treatment site
Additionally, you will carry out patient administrative work, both individually and in collaboration with others. The work consists of resource planning, patient documentation, utilization of reporting systems, and triage of patients.
In your daily work, exercises are included to prepare you for acute care situations. The professional role includes combat training so that you can protect and defend your own group and patients. As a nurse, you should be able to undergo further training to develop your defense medical knowledge. All work is carried out in accordance with the Health and Medical Services Act.
Qualifications
- Nursing degree with valid license
- Completed military service / GMU with a passing result
- Driver's license B
- Good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish

Meritorious
- Specialization in orthopedics, anesthesia, emergency or ambulance care, or other qualifications deemed equivalent by the employer.
- Previous experience of service in the Armed Forces and/or overseas service
- Experience with the Armed Forces' healthcare system, medical tactics, and medical leadership
- Good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in English
Other
Employment form: Reserve Officer Medicine (RO 1 MED), You have another main occupation. The Armed Forces applies a 6-month probationary period for those who are not currently employed by the authority. Work location: P 7 Revingehed, the employment includes service in Latvia during Q1-Q2 2027. Physical requirements according to FM FysS: Level 2. If you proceed in the process, we will invite you to P 7 for an interview. Start date: By agreement.
