Welcome to the Orthopedic Department in Malmö! We are looking for nursing assistants who want to work in an engaged team where care, collaboration, and development are in focus.

Since autumn 2022, the Orthopedic Unit (VO) has three departments with working methods derived from the Magnet for Europe project. The origin comes from the USA, where Magnet hospitals are characterized by good working environments and excellent care, as well as a strong ability to recruit and retain staff.

In 2024, the unit moved into the New Hospital Area in Malmö (NSM). NSM includes intensive care, outpatient clinics, operating rooms, postoperative places, admission department, and care departments with 244 single rooms (of which 22 are adapted for intermediate care) and a sterile technical unit. The goal is to create the best possible facilities for care now and in the future.

Within the Orthopedic Unit at Sus, over 500 employees work, and we are one of Sweden's largest orthopedic operations. We operate in both Lund and Malmö. Each year, we receive over 85,000 visits to our outpatient clinics and have approximately 6,700 inpatients. Our patient group includes both children and adults. The department has 24 care places, all of which are single rooms with a shower and toilet in each room.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We are now looking for nursing assistants for both Orthopedic Departments 51 and 52.

In the role of nursing assistant with us, you will work with preoperative preparations and postoperative care of patients who have undergone orthopedic surgery. Together with your colleagues, you will provide basic care for the orthopedic patient, including nutrition, wound care, and rehabilitation.

You will work closely with patients based on their care needs, such as nutrition, elimination, mobilization, and well-being. Based on this, you will plan a relevant care plan linked to the patient's needs and resources. The unit offers an individualized introduction with guidance from an experienced colleague.

The positions involve day and evening shifts. There is also an opportunity for combined day and night shifts.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is a trained nursing assistant and meets the National Board of Health and Welfare's requirements for a protected professional title, regardless of whether you have studied under previous or current program structures. You also have knowledge and/or experience in emergency care/healthcare. Good language skills in Swedish, both spoken and written, are a requirement. We prefer candidates with experience working as a nursing assistant, and work experience in orthopedics or other surgical operations is an advantage. Experience with the Melior journal system is desirable.
