You will work as a case officer in the unit for national migration issues. The unit deals with issues such as the reception of asylum seekers and the asylum process, labor migration, family reunification, citizenship, efforts against shadow societies, revocation of residence permits, and return migration. The unit is also responsible for the governance of the Migration Agency and budget work in expenditure area 8 Migration, as well as handling individual cases and environmental analysis.
You will be the case officer for so-called security cases, i.e., appeals to the government regarding the Migration Agency's decisions on Swedish citizenship. The work involves processing incoming cases, communicating with authorities, applicants, and their representatives, some administration related to case handling, and preparing decision-making materials for the political leadership. The work requires good collaboration skills as you will represent the unit and the Ministry of Justice in various contexts. At times, the pace of work is high, which requires you to have a structured approach. Some other usual departmental work may also be included in the tasks.

Your background
We are looking for someone with an academic degree relevant to the assignment, such as political science, law, or economics. You have previous experience working with individual migration cases and good knowledge of Swedish public administration.
It is an advantage if you have experience working with individual citizenship cases or work from the unit's other areas of responsibility.
You have a very good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in both Swedish and English.
