Controller for the Implementation Department's Volunteer Section

The National Home Guard Staff is looking for a controller for the Implementation Department's Volunteer Section with expertise in finance, planning, budgeting, monitoring, and analysis. We offer a workplace with socially important, interesting, and developing tasks.

About the Unit

The Home Guard is part of the Armed Forces' operational organization and constitutes almost half of its personnel. The National Home Guard Staff (RHS) is the staff of the National Home Guard Commander to lead and direct the production of the combat force Home Guard. The combat force Home Guard consists of various types of military units and activities, including combat schools, four military regions with staffs, military region units, 40 Home Guard battalions, and several Home Guard units.

The National Home Guard Commander is responsible for the Armed Forces' work with voluntary defense activities. 18 voluntary defense organizations (FFO) contribute to the country's civil and military defense. 13 of these recruit and train volunteer specialists at the request of the Armed Forces. RHS leads this activity.

Main Responsibilities

In the role of controller, you will work closely with the voluntary defense organizations, both strategically and operationally. You will be responsible for financial analyses, monitoring, reporting, and reconciliations within the voluntary activities. In collaboration with the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency (MSB), you will allocate and pay out organizational support and operational assignments to the voluntary defense organizations according to the government's appropriation letter.

Furthermore, you will be responsible for compiling, analyzing, and following up on quarterly, interim, and annual reports from the voluntary defense organizations.

Qualifications

• Academic degree in finance or equivalent education deemed equivalent by the Armed Forces
• Several years of relevant experience in similar tasks in a role as a controller or similar
• Relevant experience in collaboration, planning, and coordination
• Relevant experience from a government agency, public sector, or larger private sector
• Excellent ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish and English.
• Good knowledge of Office 365

Employment form: Permanent employment with a 6-month probationary period applies to those who are not currently employed by the Armed Forces.

Location: The workplace is in Stockholm, with good opportunities for remote work and/or commuting.
