Do you want to give lectures on men's violence against women and support young girls? Tjejjouren Iris is now looking for a business developer who wants to strengthen women's rights, support young girls, and work with our outreach activities.
ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION
Tjejjouren Iris is part of Kvinnojouren Iris, a politically and religiously independent non-profit organization based on feminism, women's solidarity, and women’s separatism.
The organization's activities consist of a women's shelter, a girls' shelter, a senior women's support service, and a legal aid service.
Our goals and mission are to:
● Provide support and protection to women, girls, and children who are subjected to violence by men and boys.
● Operate a crisis service and offer support to women and girls.
● Spread knowledge, engage in advocacy, and prevent men's violence against women.
ABOUT THE ASSIGNMENT
Tjejjouren Iris has been actively working since the fall of 2023 to strengthen our operations and recruit more volunteer crisis support girls. Now we are looking for someone who wants to take this work further and deepen our presence in Luleå and the region.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The work at Tjejjouren Iris involves increasing the visibility of the girls' shelter and spreading knowledge about men's violence against women by organizing outreach activities. Your
main task is to give lectures in schools and for professionals, hold presentations for the public, and find arenas where we can meet young girls and spread knowledge about boys' violence against girls. You will represent Tjejjouren Iris in external contexts, develop collaborations, and build new contacts.
You will offer support conversations through physical visits, chat, and phone calls to girls in Luleå and the region. You will also be responsible for driving and developing our digital channels via the web and social media. The role also includes coordinating and supporting our volunteer crisis support girls and keeping the volunteer work together.
The assignment includes certain administrative tasks and, if necessary, contributing to the daily operations at the shelter.
As a business developer, you will:
● Coordinate and support volunteer crisis support girls.
● Plan, implement, and drive outreach work in arenas where we meet young girls, including through lectures in schools.
● Actively create and identify new contexts and meeting places where we reach our target group.
● Drive and develop our social media and other digital channels.
● Offer support to girls through physical conversations, chat, and phone.
We are looking for someone who has a strong commitment to women's and girls' rights in society and has a good ability to build relationships and collaborate with various actors.
ARE YOU OUR NEW COLLEAGUE?
To succeed in the role, we see that you have:
● Commitment to feminism and issues related to men's and boys' violence against women and girls.
● Good ability to build relationships and create safe environments.
● Experience working independently, driving your own tasks, and organizing and executing work on your own.
Desirable:
● Insight into gender issues and a critical perspective on norms.
● Experience in digital communication and social media.
● Previous engagement in crisis support or associations.
● Relevant education in a social science subject, such as behavioral science, sociology, psychology, gender studies, or other equivalent education.
● Experience working with children or youth, preferably in supportive or educational roles.
Personal qualities
We are looking for someone who is self-driven and has the ability to work both operationally and strategically. You are structured, responsible, and easily collaborate with others.
You take your own initiative, are used to driving your own processes forward, thrive with freedom under responsibility, and feel comfortable in a smaller organization.
