The Community Transformation

The mission of the community transformation is to ensure land access in good time to secure LKAB's mining operations and growth plans. This means that about two-thirds of Kiruna's population, equivalent to 12,000 people, will be gradually relocated. A total of approximately 5,400 homes and 800,000 square meters of residential and commercial space will be replaced as part of the community transformation.

Your Role

As a community planner, you will be part of the transformation section, which plays a central role in the early stages of the community transformation process. You will work strategically with the planning of Kiruna's development and have many points of contact, both internally and externally. The role means you will be a client in various projects, which requires the ability to see the big picture and drive issues forward without getting stuck in details. You will collaborate closely with Kiruna municipality, authorities, and other stakeholders and have great freedom to plan and acquire resources for project implementation, while also being responsible for delivering results within allocated frameworks.

We Expect You to Have:

• University or college education, preferably in urban planning or equivalent knowledge acquired in other ways
• Experience in project management or another leadership position
• Driver's license (B) as it is a requirement for all LKAB positions
• Very good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written

It is Meritorious if You Have:

• Knowledge of implementation processes for comprehensive plans, detailed plans, and building permits
