Group Manager for System Engineering Mobility

Are you ready to take the next step in your career and work with leadership and business development assignments? Do you want to influence the conditions for current and future systems in the company's products? BAE Systems Hägglunds is looking for an engaged leader for our systems engineers in the System Engineering Mobility group.

The group is responsible for mobility capabilities in all of the company's products and consists of technical specialists with broad expertise in system development, integration, and lifecycle management of complex technical systems.

We work cross-functionally to ensure that the systems operate according to requirements, specifications, and business goals. The group currently consists of about 8-10 employees and consultants as needed.

The position reports to the unit manager and is part of the unit's management team along with four group managers.

Your Future Challenge

As a group manager, you will play a central role in the daily operations where you will both operationally and strategically lead the group's work. You will take ownership of the group and drive the development of platforms and operations together with the unit manager and fellow group managers. You will handle project issues related to system solutions and working methods and lead the team throughout the project in close collaboration with other groups within Engineering Management. The role is part of the management team for Systems Engineering and the extended management team for the Engineering Management Section.

The Group's Responsibilities Include:

  • Identifying and involving relevant stakeholders.
  • System design and functional analysis within mobility and producing design-guiding documentation.
  • Conducting studies and investigations at the system level throughout the lifecycle according to product requirements.
  • Establishing subsystem requirements based on system requirements.
  • Documenting selected system solutions.

Your Tasks Include:

  • Leading employee development towards the company's goals.
  • Further developing the group and increasing the number of permanent employees.
  • Managing consultants, including contracts, onboarding, and follow-up, as well as developing collaborations with consulting firms.
  • Promoting external development and ensuring mature processes.
  • Working operationally in projects to drive progress within your area of responsibility.
  • Strengthening internal interfaces and continuously improving deliverables together with the unit.

The position involves many internal contact points, primarily with Vehicle Propulsion and Vehicle Design, as well as areas such as safety, technology, external development, and marketing. The role includes budget and personnel responsibility and provides an opportunity to influence product, strategy, processes, and customer adaptations.

Who You Are

You are a structured and self-driven leader who utilizes the team's expertise to drive development. You are receptive, build a strong feedback culture, and work analytically to challenge and improve working methods in a changing environment.

You have a technical engineering degree at the university level. Experience in systems work in complex systems, Systems Engineering, or subsystem development in leading roles is an advantage, as is broad experience from various business areas and the ability to manage many parallel tasks.

You contribute as an important cog in the unit's management team, bringing knowledge, engagement, and positive energy, as well as your straightforward and honest opinions on all matters discussed. We look forward to welcoming you as our new colleague!
