Research Leader in Parenting Support and the Impact of the Pandemic on Children with Migration Background

Do you want to contribute to improving the health, well-being, and sense of belonging for families with a migration background? Now you have the chance to be part of our interdisciplinary research team. We are currently looking for a researcher for two ongoing research projects focusing on parenting support for families with a migration background and the impact of the pandemic on children and youth with migration experience. The projects are funded by NordForsk and Forte. Dalarna University conducts education and research in two locations and is characterized by close collaboration with the surrounding community.

Responsibilities

As a researcher in the projects, you will have an active and independent role in carrying out the research project. The tasks include, among others:

• planning, conducting, and documenting data collection
• recruiting participants and conducting interviews with parents and children
• analyzing qualitative and/or quantitative data in collaboration with the project group
• writing scientific articles, reports, and other research publications
• contributing to collaboration and knowledge exchange with national and international project partners

The work is carried out in close collaboration with other researchers within the projects but also requires a high degree of independence and responsibility.

Are you the person we are looking for?

We are looking for someone who:

• holds a degree in social work and has a PhD in health sciences or equivalent
• has documented experience in evaluating interventions aimed at parents with a migration background
• has excellent ability to express oneself in both spoken and written Swedish and English
• is a person with good collaboration skills and accustomed to working on projects with external actors
• is structured, communicative, and has an interest in disseminating research results beyond academia.

Employment

The employment is temporary for a maximum of 12 months, with a workload of 60%, and covers the period from January 15 to December 31, 2026. The place of employment is Falun.
