Care Assistant for LSS Residence
Are you a care assistant looking to work with the elderly within LSS? Are nursing care and method development your areas of interest? Then you might be the one we are looking for at Grindstugevägen 36! With us, you will have the opportunity to belong to a team that works on development both within the team and for the citizens in our LSS residence. We are involved in creating care and support for first-generation elderly individuals with intellectual disabilities. We constantly strive to be at the forefront of working with the elderly LSS target group through new working methods and approaches.
Working hours include day, evening, and sleeping on-call shifts, as well as work every other weekend. On weekdays, shifts vary and are scheduled between 08:00 and 20:00. The sleeping on-call shift starts at 18:00 and ends at 10:00 the following day, while weekend on-call starts at 14:30 and ends at 09:15. We also have flexible hours that can be used when work allows.
The position is permanent
The position is a permanent employment with a workload of 90% with the possibility of working full-time within the health and care administration. Start date is February 1 or by agreement.
Your new job
As a support assistant with us, you will provide support to citizens based on individual needs and circumstances. You will help citizens manage their daily lives and all the challenges that may arise, both inside and outside the home.
We want you to have an interest in working with method development and cognitive support for the elderly target group, such as AAC and the five-finger model. It is also important to have a sense of commitment and desire to work with care and support. The goal of the organization is to create conditions for good living conditions for residents with knowledge and interest in people with disabilities, and with a dignified approach.
Common tasks
- Care and support for the elderly
- All tasks occurring in a home
- Delegated tasks from occupational therapists, physiotherapists, or district nurses
- Participate in various activities with individuals, from walks to vacation trips
- Documentation
Your qualifications
Requirements
- Trained care assistant or support assistant
- Good knowledge of Swedish in both spoken and written form
- Good computer skills
Meritorious
- Experience in nursing care
- Experience working with elderly individuals with disabilities
- Experience working with insulin delegation
- Experience working with individuals with dementia
- Experience working with individuals with epilepsy
- Knowledge of alternative and augmentative communication (AAC)
- Familiarity with one or more of our systems: Viva, MCSS, DF-respons
- Driving license B
We are looking for you

In this role, you will meet elderly citizens, such as individuals with intellectual disabilities. To succeed in the assignment, you need to be able to adapt your way of conveying messages based on the recipient. You also need to be able to make correct assessments and priorities based on the situation and individual. It is important that you can weigh complex information and various considerations and demonstrate good judgment in your statements, actions, and decisions. This applies, among other things, to the work with documentation.
We are also looking for a person who takes initiative, starts activities, and achieves results. You work well with others and are a good colleague who responds to people attentively and smoothly. You listen, communicate, and handle conflicts constructively. You are calm, attentive, and accommodating in your interactions. Furthermore, you have the interest, willingness, and ability to help others and strive to deliver solutions.
You take responsibility for your tasks, structure your work approach, and drive your processes forward. You are meticulous and aware of goals and quality standards and place great importance on meeting them. Finally, you remain motivated and effective even in setbacks and disappointments and continue working until projects are completed or results are achieved.
