Contact Nurse for the Oncology Clinic Rehabilitation Unit

With us, you are offered an exciting and meaningful job by creating security and participation for patients and relatives before and after completing oncological treatment.

You will be welcomed to an open and pleasant workplace with good opportunities for development.

Job Responsibilities

As a contact nurse at the Oncology Clinic's Rehabilitation Unit, you will work with patients who receive their treatment, follow-up, and rehabilitation at the clinic. The role involves creating continuity, security, participation, and serving as support for both patients and relatives.

The work consists largely of supportive and informative conversations conducted during outpatient visits or via telephone counseling. You will attend new patient visits together with the physician. Thereafter, you ensure that the provided information, both verbally and in writing, about the planned treatment and discussions to inform and assess the patient's need for cancer rehabilitation. In case of assessed discomfort, a rehabilitation plan is established together with the patient. You have good support in coordination efforts for cancer rehabilitation within the team.

The role includes participating in network meetings, quality seminars, tumor team rounds, and multidisciplinary conferences.

About the Workplace

The Oncology Clinic in Västerås consists of an outpatient clinic, radiation therapy department, inpatient department (Department 80), day care department, and rehabilitation unit for cancer rehabilitation. Approximately 130 employees work at the clinic, where we have a non-prestigious collaboration between the clinic's units and work in a team-focused manner. The care is based on a holistic view of the individual and takes into account physical, psychological, social, and existential factors to adapt it to each patient.

At the rehabilitation unit, you will be part of a workgroup consisting of contact nurses, dietitians, social workers, and a psychologist. Your colleagues form a stable core with many years of combined experience across several professions. You will work in an educational environment characterized by a pleasant work climate with freedom under responsibility.
