We are now looking for residential support workers for one of our group homes in Nälden, who share our goal; to offer a good life with good living conditions, with great respect for the individual's integrity and self-determination. You will work based on an individually tailored approach and provide support and services according to the individual's own needs and wishes.

The group home has 6 apartments and is aimed at people with varying disabilities of different ages.

The Social Administration consists of 600 employees, where the breadth of the mission is extensive. The administration is divided into five operational areas and is present throughout the municipality. Here, we are responsible for providing care and support, assistance and service, as well as health and medical care to the municipality's citizens who need it, at all stages of life.

A Day as a Residential Support Worker at Faxen in Nälden

In the role of a residential support worker, it is important that you are secure in yourself and have the ability to act calmly and methodically in demanding situations. You use a low-arousal approach, clear structure, and good communication as tools in your daily work – always with respect for the individual's integrity and need for security.

You provide support and services in everyday life to individuals who themselves face challenges with insight into their problems, where self-destructive, compulsive, outwardly aggressive, and problem-causing behaviors may occur.

The goal of the intervention is to enable these individuals to live as independently as possible. You support the residents in areas of their lives that they find difficult to manage on their own. You do this with great respect for the individual's integrity and self-determination.

The work may include support in social interaction, understanding and managing emotions, or relating to their surroundings and the rules and norms of society. The work may also involve practical tasks in the home that the residents need help with, with the aim of enabling them to live as independently as possible and have a life with activities tailored to their own abilities.

The goal of the operation is to create conditions for good living conditions for the residents, with knowledge and interest in individuals with psychiatric difficulties and disabilities, as well as with a professional and dignified approach.

The target group places high demands on competence, engagement, self-awareness, flexibility, reliability, and the ability to collaborate.

As support in your work, there is a support team with a social worker, support pedagogues, district nurses, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, etc.

Your Competence

You have education and/or experience in areas such as psychiatry, neurodevelopmental disorders, challenging/problematic behaviors, and self-destructive behaviors.

As the work involves documentation, computer skills are a requirement, as well as the ability to express yourself well in Swedish, both in writing and speaking. You also have a B driver's license.

Experience working with positive behavior support is an advantage.

You are secure in yourself and have a professional attitude that includes humility, patience, and flexibility. Furthermore, you are responsible and solution-focused, with engagement and openness for development work in the workplace.

To successfully work together with both residents and colleagues, it is important that you appreciate collaboration, have a genuine interest in working with people, and have the ability to create good relationships.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
