Are you a nursing assistant interested in specialized surgery? Then this could be the right position for you!

The Hand and Plastic Surgery department is located in Malmö and conducts highly specialized surgery. We receive patients from southern Sweden, as well as national and international patients who need highly specialized surgical care.

The department has 14 inpatient care places distributed between plastic surgery, breast cancer surgery, hand surgery, and ear-nose-throat patients. We also have up to eight day surgery places on weekdays for hand surgery patients. The department cares for both elective and emergency patients and has its own emergency intake around the clock for hand patients. The hand surgery flow also includes children. Our team consists of nurses, nursing assistants, and doctors working together with occupational therapists, physiotherapists, social workers, and dietitians. The workgroup is divided into two teams for inpatient care patients and one team for day surgery.

In the department, we have a clinical specialist nurse or a nursing leader on duty who works with the staff as a resource in complex care situations. Additionally, there is support from experienced nurses and nursing assistants who are available as competence support. The department also has a coordinator who manages the daily flow.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a nursing assistant with us, you will have the opportunity to develop a broad knowledge and experience in the field of surgery. In your role, you will be responsible for patient care, dressings, and mobilization. Additionally, preoperative preparations and postoperative care are included. The work is independent and requires a great deal of personal responsibility. In our care department, we work in teams with a focus on holistic care and patient-centered work.

The care department has a high flow of patients and offers various specialties, which gives you the opportunity for further development and new knowledge. The position is a temporary position until 2025-09-30 and is full-time. Working hours are 37 hours/week scheduled for day, evening, and weekend shifts.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is a trained nursing assistant and meets the requirements of the National Board of Health and Welfare regarding protected professional titles, regardless of whether you have studied under previous or current program structures. Good language skills in Swedish, both spoken and written, are a requirement.

Experience from surgical operations and knowledge of wound dressing is an advantage. We view positively if you have experience with our healthcare administrative systems such as Melior and Orbit.

You take responsibility and have the ability to make your own decisions, but also value working in a team. Furthermore, you are solution-oriented, attentive, and flexible, and have a humble approach in your contact with patients as well as colleagues.
