We are now looking for a shift leader for our camp kitchen with an interest in cooking and service and previous experience in leadership who wants to further develop in this area. We will train you, so no formal education is required; however, we value your interest in cooking, your ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, and your desire to help develop our operations. We believe you are a natural leader in the kitchen and dining room, accustomed to taking initiative and working in a structured manner, and you enjoy an environment where children and youth make up the majority of our guests.

Working at camp means that during the summer you will live at your workplace, at the campgrounds in Värmland. You will share accommodation with your colleagues while you work, approximately 5-6 people per room. The job requires that you can be away from home for at least 6 weeks during the summer.

About the company

Utepedagogik Sverige AB operates camp activities at several campgrounds for children and youth aged 9-16 years, focusing on adventure and our operations are directed towards outdoor educational activities. Job responsibilities

As a shift leader, you are the right hand of the kitchen manager and assist in leading the staff. You delegate tasks with ease and handle both calm and stressful situations. You are socially competent and create good relationships with your colleagues while motivating and inspiring them to continue developing.

The kitchen at camp is the heart of our operations, and as an employee in the kitchen, your tasks will vary between cooking, serving, and dishwashing. Together with a team of 6-7 people, you will be responsible for delivering breakfast, lunch, and dinner in our communal dining room to camp participants and camp leaders at our three campgrounds. Additionally, you will also receive deliveries, ensure that the campgrounds have snacks and evening meals, and prepare food for activities such as hikes/outings.

The work is carried out under the guidance of a kitchen manager. You must also adhere to quality and hygiene requirements and be able to meet camp participants in a pedagogical and inspiring manner, as we want participants to discover the various aspects of cooking and possibly spark an understanding and future interest.

Employment conditions

The position is full-time. You must be able to attend our training days on-site at the campground in Värmland from April 30 - May 3, and June 6 - 11. During the summer, you need to be able to work and thus be away from home for at least six weeks during the period of June 12 - August 16.
