As an emergency coordinator in Österåker Municipality, you will have a very important and varied role as you are part of the effort to strengthen the municipality's ability to prevent and manage disruptions and various forms of stress during peacetime and in war. In close collaboration with the municipality's managers and employees, you will coordinate and drive the development of crisis preparedness and civil defense in Österåker Municipality based on national assignments, political priorities, and ongoing work.

Your New Job

As an emergency coordinator, you will work in the Department of Security, Safety, and Civil Preparedness alongside several colleagues with different operational focuses. In close collaboration with the Deputy Security Manager, you will work broadly within crisis preparedness and civil defense, e.g., risk and vulnerability analyses, continuity management, total defense planning, and ensuring that decisions and robustness-enhancing measures are implemented in practice.

Examples of ongoing activities include supply preparedness, e.g., food and drinking water, safety points and backup power, war organization, and coordination of volunteer organizations. You will also coordinate the function of Official on Duty (TiB) and may eventually be included in the TiB function.

The role involves coordinating and further developing management systems for information security according to the Cybersecurity Act and working with the municipality's security protection and signal protection. Eventually, the assignment may also develop into maintaining the role of Deputy Security Protection Manager.

You will plan and lead training and exercises that strengthen both the organization and the entire Österåker in preparation for future challenges and communicate regularly with the public.

The work takes place in close collaboration internally and with municipalities, authorities, and other external actors. Here, you will have the opportunity to develop yourself, build networks, influence, and contribute to a robust society where the residents of Österåker feel safe.

The department's work is partly event-driven, and work outside regular working hours may occur, but to a limited extent.

Your Profile

Since the Department of Security, Safety, and Civil Preparedness handles serious events and sensitive information of various kinds, it is required that you are a stable and stress-resistant person with high integrity.

Requirements:

• relevant academic education in the field or equivalent education or experience as assessed by the employer
• good knowledge of legislation governing municipalities' crisis and preparedness work in peacetime as well as work with civil defense and heightened preparedness
• experience working with risk and vulnerability analyses, continuity management, civil preparedness
• knowledge of security protection, information security, ISO 27000, and the Cybersecurity Act
• easy to communicate, express yourself verbally and in writing adapted to the context and different target groups
• valid driver's license (B)

Meritorious Experience:

• further education in crisis preparedness, security protection, total defense, or similar
• work with supply preparedness, signal protection, and Styrel
• work with information security, ISO 27000, and the Cybersecurity Act
• plan and conduct training and exercises
• drive and lead processes
• work in public operations where political goals and priorities are guiding
