ABOUT THE JOB

We are now looking for a coordinator for increased attendance at Finnback School.

Finnback School is a secondary school with approximately 420 students. We have 5-6 parallel classes and four working teams, one for each grade and one for our resource school. The working teams meet regularly for team meetings, professional development, and student health meetings. Educational staff collaborate with the school's student health to ensure that our students feel well and safe at school and achieve good academic results.

As a coordinator, you will work as part of the school's student health team, focusing on young people with problematic school absenteeism, and you will receive assignments from the principal. You will work with students who need more support than what is included in the school's mission and require coordination with other actors. You will be part of a school social team in collaboration with social services and outpatient care.

At our school, there is a special education group where many of the students have problematic school absenteeism. The special education group serves both as a longer intervention for students in need of special support and as a shorter intervention for students needing a bridge back to regular education following prolonged or repeated absence. The coordinator will have close collaboration with the special education group.

The coordinator's role includes working with student health to gain as broad a picture of the student's needs as possible. The coordinator's assignment is both coordinating, supportive, and operational. This means coordinating existing efforts and initiating new contacts if needed. You will support various actors, students, and guardians in the effort to increase school attendance, e.g., as a link or in a more consulting/mentoring role. In some cases, the coordinator works more operationally by assisting with the investigation of absenteeism or maintaining direct contact with the student to serve as a bridge to school for a limited time.

Do you want to develop and help us build Finnback School further? Do you enjoy working with teenagers, as we do? Do you have a good ability to build relationships? Then Finnback School is the right school for you!
