Your Responsibilities

We are looking for someone who wants to become part of our workgroup at Blandaren!

As a care assistant in home care, you will have planned tasks that include personal hygiene, household chores, and medical interventions. This can range from morning assistance in the form of serving breakfast or showering to administering medication and going for walks. The content and scope of the interventions vary and are based on each individual, which is why we also follow the approach of Individual Needs in Focus (IBIC).

In the work, it is important to have delegation for both medications and insulin in order to assist everyone with their medications. It may also involve delegation of certain healthcare tasks in consultation with a nurse.

As a care assistant, you will also become the care contact for a number of individuals. We have chosen to work in teams where both care assistants and nursing aides are included, which means that you will help each other in the assignment. The assignment involves participating in welcome conversations, where you plan support interventions together with the individual. You are responsible for implementation plans and document in the Treserva system. The role also includes close contact with relatives and other partners.

Your Workplace

Blandaren's home care and sheltered housing are centrally located, just a few minutes from Linköping's travel center. Here, 30 care assistants and nursing aides work alongside home care nurses. We have 38 apartments for sheltered housing and also provide home care in the central city area. We work in three teams, one indoor team that works with our residents in sheltered housing and two outdoor teams.

You will primarily belong to the indoor team and work on our "dementia loop". With us, continuity is very important, and therefore we schedule several interventions for the same individual throughout the day in a loop. This allows for a closer relationship with the individual as well as better opportunities to note changes in health status.

Who We Are Looking For

We are looking for someone who has a recognized education as a care assistant, as well as experience in care and support work. We consider it an advantage if you have worked with individuals who have dementia. We also see it as an advantage if you have experience with a low-arousal approach and a salutogenic perspective.

Work in elderly care involves a lot of customer contact and documentation, which means we require you to communicate verbally and in writing in Swedish. You should also be able to use digital tools in your work, and it is advantageous if you have experience documenting in journal systems. For the position, you also need to be able to cycle.

As a person, you are self-driven and take responsibility for your tasks and push your work forward. You also work well with others and listen and communicate clearly. It is also important that you have an empathetic ability that allows you to understand others' perspectives and situations.
