Hospitals in the West are looking for a nurse for Ward 7
Hospitals in the West is an administration within the Västra Götaland Region and consists of four hospitals – Alingsås Hospital, Angered Local Hospital, Högsbo Local Hospital, and Kungälv Hospital. Approximately 3000 employees work with us every day to provide good and safe specialist healthcare of the highest quality.
Ward 7 is one of three medical wards, each with 24 beds, focusing on heart and lung care.
Three years ago, we moved into one of Sweden's most modern ward buildings. The work has changed as each patient is now cared for in their own room, and the ward is equipped with the latest technology in the field.
Since 2022, Ward 7 has been providing advanced HIA care. In these seven beds, we care for severely ill heart patients who were previously treated in the ICU. The work on the ward has thus become more specialized and varied. We are now looking for another colleague who wants to join us in further developing cardiac care. You will have great opportunities to encounter many different interesting medical diagnoses within our three wards.
Job Responsibilities and Work Methods
From autumn, Ward 7 will be a care ward with 28 beds, of which 7 are HIA beds, and the work is led by two ward managers in a shared leadership. The work on the ward is knowledge-intensive, developing, and exciting, and we provide advanced medical care. We work in teams and with person-centered care in collaboration with nursing assistants, nurses, paramedics, and doctors to make the best use of each other's competencies. We are looking for a nurse for night shifts.
About You
We are looking for someone who enjoys collaborating with others and who wants to be part of our wonderful team where we collectively drive the operation forward, work on improvement efforts, and create and develop our ward and our methods with patients at the center.
Qualifications
You should be a licensed nurse, and it is advantageous if you have previous experience in medicine or cardiology/HIA.
For us, it is important that you are driven to develop care with the patient at the center, as well as actively share your knowledge with colleagues and equally curiously engage with the competencies of your colleagues.
The length of introduction and shadowing will be assessed based on your individual competence to ensure you have the best possible start. Before starting work in HIA, you will also receive specific training and introduction.

Clinical Foundation Year
For newly graduated nurses/radiology nurses, a Clinical Foundation Year is included during the first year of your permanent employment. The Clinical Foundation Year includes lectures, process-oriented nursing guidance, and practical training of your profession at the Simulation Center. It also includes shadowing in other operations to give you a broader understanding of the hospital where you work. This is an initiative aimed at giving you the opportunity to further develop in your profession and build your professional identity.
