Your Role

As section manager for Radar System, you are both the responsible line manager for the operations and the project manager for assignments. The work includes responsibility for personnel, time, technology, and finances. You are involved in daily operations and are responsible for leading both the operational and strategic work within the section.

The section is primarily responsible for the integration of radar equipment in Gripen C/D, development of meeting software in Gripen's avionics system, integration of radar-related models, and integration into support and training systems. The work encompasses all stages of development, from concept and design to verification and declaration of radar functions in aircraft and ground systems.

We work closely with several other subsystems and departments within Saab, as well as with the partner developing and manufacturing the radar equipment.

Being a section manager for Radar System is a multifaceted, demanding, fun, and developing assignment. The role involves exercising leadership in a development organization where you have full operational responsibility both strategically and operationally.

Your role includes ensuring an efficient operation with high delivery capability that uses appropriate processes, methods, and tools, as well as sound product development throughout the lifecycle. Furthermore, you are responsible for ensuring a forward-looking and strategic approach regarding technology, product, competence, and capability.

You will be part of the area's management team where you will help drive and develop the entire area's leadership and development capability.

Your Profile

We are looking for someone who is driven, responsible, and good at collaboration. You enjoy developing people, operations, and technology. As a section manager, you work both strategically and operationally with many points of contact, so good communication skills and a focus on results are important. You have an interest in Agile working methods and how the business can develop.

Requirements for the position:

  • Your background is a technical university education with experience and interest in system and software development. Experience in device integration is an advantage. Great emphasis will be placed on your personal qualities.
  • The position requires you to undergo and be approved according to the applicable security protection regulations. For positions where Saab has requirements for security classification, this may, in some cases, involve requirements for certain citizenship.
