We are now looking for a platform developer who enjoys challenges and is driven by curiosity where the answer is not predetermined, who sees opportunities in testing, learning, and improving together with others. You will be part of Monitoring IT within Operational Center, responsible for the development, operation, and management of the Transport Administration's monitoring platforms. We are now facing a new and exciting step - to build an observability platform that complements and strengthens our existing ecosystem.

This is a role where you will be both a technician, coach, and culture builder - in a mission with great impact and much freedom. You will help shape a team that together builds a culture where we learn from each other, dare to test, celebrate failures, and are driven to make a difference. By following the entire chain - from needs and ideas to solutions in operation, we will build and operate a new observability platform based on OpenTelemetry and other open-source tools as well as our own components. You will also have the opportunity to:

• be involved in defining what observability 2.0 means in practice (at the Transport Administration) - for both people and systems
• build technical solutions that provide the organization with the conditions to make better decisions, faster, and where what you build is truly used
• support teams throughout the organization to work more transparently, learning, and insight-driven
• coach and support other teams in their journey towards better observability, by sharing knowledge, identifying needs, and building solutions
• explore and evaluate technical choices
• automate, scale, and improve - we think DevOps and platform engineering from the start, you will help set standards for how the platform should be built and maintained sustainably

The location for the position is Borlänge, Gävle, or Gothenburg.

In the long term, on-call duty will be part of the role - something we rotate among team members and see as an important part of ensuring availability and safe operations.

In this recruitment, web-based tests may be used as part of the selection process. Interviews will be conducted digitally via Skype and are planned to take place during weeks 3 and 4. We are looking for you who have

• a relevant university degree in IT (at least 180 credits) or equivalent work experience that we assess as equivalent
• several years of experience in software development, preferably in .NET/C# (which is our main stack)
• relevant experience of operating in the borderland between development and operations - with one foot in the codebase and the other in Kubernetes
• experience with systems that have high availability requirements and methods
• good knowledge of Swedish in both spoken and written form

It is meritorious if you have experience in

• Observability, OpenTelemetry or similar technologies
• Grafana (LGTM+), Prometheus, ELK, OpenSearch or other tools within visualization and log management
• distributed systems and event-driven architecture
• OpenShift or other cloud/container platforms
• development and operations in a Linux environment
• DevOps, CI/CD, and infrastructure as code
• web technologies, e.g., React
• engagement in open source projects or communities
