The Hospitals in the West is an administration within the Västra Götaland Region and consists of four hospitals – Alingsås Hospital, Angered Local Hospital, Högsbo Local Hospital, and Kungälv Hospital. Approximately 3000 employees work with us every day to provide good and safe specialist healthcare of the highest quality.

Surgery and Orthopedics Department

The Surgery and Orthopedics Department at Kungälv Hospital includes outpatient clinics for surgery, orthopedics, and urology, an oncology clinic, and a gynecological clinic, as well as two wards focused on surgery and orthopedics.

About the Position

We are looking for an engaged nurse for a combined position in our oncology clinic and surgical outpatient clinic. You will work with both cancer patients and surgical day care, in a team with high competence and close collaboration. The position is a combination with the opportunity to develop within our outpatient services in oncology/surgery. For the right person, there is a chance to grow within inpatient care on our surgical ward. As part of our team, you will have an exciting and varied role where you can develop both professionally and personally. You will be an important part of our operations and work to provide care, both at the first contact during treatment and inpatient care.

Your Responsibilities

With us, you make a difference every day by providing support and care to patients undergoing cancer treatment and surgical day care. You will work with advanced treatments and administer medications such as chemotherapy and immunotherapy with both precision and safety. In your role, you are close to the patient, monitor their condition, and act quickly in case of changes, thereby contributing to a safe care environment. You empower and inform by guiding patients and their relatives through diagnosis and treatment plans, always with empathy and clarity. The work is done in close collaboration with colleagues from various professions, where you participate in multidisciplinary meetings and together develop the care. Your competence is important.

Qualifications

You are a licensed specialist nurse in oncology or surgery with at least 3 years of experience in oncological or surgical care – or a licensed nurse with at least 3 years of experience working with cancer patients or in a surgical outpatient clinic.

Merits that make you extra valuable to our team include a chemotherapy license and/or contact nurse training. It is also advantageous if you have good knowledge of healthcare IT systems – we work in Melior, ELVIS, Cytobase, and 1177.
