VO6, Psychiatric Clinic

The Psychiatric Clinic consists of inpatient care, with a 24/7 emergency department, and psychiatric outpatient services in Falköping, Skövde, Lidköping, and Mariestad. The inpatient care consists of four wards with a total of 58 places in completely new and modern facilities at Skaraborg Hospital in Skövde, as well as an additional 33 care places within forensic psychiatry in Falköping.

The adult psychiatry department at Skaraborg Hospital is now looking for junior doctors for our psychiatric outpatient clinics. We are looking for someone who is genuinely interested in human interaction and the conditions that affect brain function. You should be able to work independently to some extent.

Job Responsibilities

At the psychiatric outpatient clinics, we work cross-professionally in teams based on the patient's diagnosis. Each team is led by a senior physician who has overall responsibility for the patients, and as a junior doctor, you will work closely with the responsible senior physician. Your tasks include conducting tailored visits coordinated with your supervisor, prescribing medication, and issuing medical certificates.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone interested in adult psychiatry. You are a licensed physician, or approved up to and including semester 9 or further in your medical studies. If you are graduated or licensed from a non-European country, you must have the right to work as a physician in Sweden. If you are studying medicine abroad, the requirement is that you study within the EU.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

Other

We are looking for junior doctor vacancies for spring and summer 2026. When hiring in psychiatry, we require a background check from the suspicion and criminal record register. This request is handled by the employer.
