About the assignment

We are looking for a design manager with construction support competence within the Norrbotniabanan program, one of Sweden's largest ongoing infrastructure projects. Norrbotniabanan includes approximately 270 kilometers of single-track railway between Umeå and Luleå and is currently in both production and design phases.

About the role

As a design manager with construction support in infrastructure, you will be responsible for planning, leading, and following up on the design process within designated projects within the Norrbotniabanan program. The role entails significant personal responsibility and requires the ability to make well-founded decisions within given frameworks. You will work closely with the Swedish Transport Administration's project management and act as both design manager and construction support in planned and ongoing contracts.

Your responsibilities include, among other things:

• Leading, directing, and following up on the design process regarding time, cost, content, and quality
• Coordinating the design work with internal projects and external parties
• Being responsible for notification management and supporting project management during the contracting phase
• Assisting the project manager in following up on contracts, including time, finances, and production
• Participating in and contributing to production technical solutions and identifying risks and improvements
• Ensuring that work environment requirements, final documentation, and contract deliveries are followed up
• Functioning as construction support and, if necessary, replacing or assisting site managers

Travel for work may occur within the assignment.

Mandatory requirements

All requirements must be clearly stated in the CV, including periods, assignments, scope, and responsibilities.

1. At least 6 years of experience as project manager, site manager, production manager, and/or construction manager within infrastructure contracts in the contracting phase.
2. At least 4 years of experience as a design manager and/or assignment manager within road and/or railway.
3. Completed training in Concrete Class 1.
4. Valid B driver's license.
5. Good communication skills in Swedish, both spoken and written.

Assignment information

The assignment is to start no later than April 1, 2026, until March 30, 2028.

Option: The client has the unilateral right to extend the contract with existing contractual terms for an additional 1+1+1+1+1+1.

The estimated workload for the assignment is 100% of the annual working time, amounting to 1,700 hours.

The stationing location for the resource consultant is Umeå. This assignment requires physical presence at the Swedish Transport Administration's office in Umeå five days a week.
