Construction Engineer for Property within Digitalization and Service

Digitalization and Service is an operational area created to better and more efficiently support healthcare. We want to enable more time for care through smart service solutions and digitalization. Digital solutions and innovations are a crucial part of meeting tomorrow's challenges for healthcare, and Region Västerbotten is at the forefront of this. Currently, five operations are included in the operational area, and we are present throughout the county with operations at all three hospitals in Västerbotten. Property is part of Region Västerbotten's operational area Digitalization and Service. Property is responsible for Region Västerbotten's local supply, including both strategy and implementation of operations and maintenance as well as renovation and new construction. Our customers are our citizens, patients, and all operations within Region Västerbotten. The department is a county-wide operation with around 100 employees.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a construction engineer with us, you provide important service and enable efforts that affect many. You are a central part of the project management team and serve as a qualified support to the project managers throughout the project's lifecycle from analysis and planning to implementation and closure. You create structure and continuity in the projects and ensure they are carried out according to the established timeline, budget, and quality requirements.

In this role, you will work with project administration, construction law, finance, and planning, where you will prepare investment calculations, budget documentation, and ongoing cost forecasts, as well as identify and manage risks. Through close collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders, you contribute to driving projects forward in an efficient, structured, and businesslike manner.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with a university or college degree in construction and civil engineering or urban planning, or other technical education deemed equivalent by the employer. You have several years of relevant work experience in project work related to cost estimation, quantity calculation, project planning, or project administration. For this role, excellent knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written, is required, as well as good knowledge of English. A valid driver's license is a requirement.

Experience in construction and civil engineering and knowledge of risk management, especially working with action plans and risk analyses, is an advantage. To succeed in this role, you need to be structured and work according to clear processes, with a good ability to organize and plan your work so that tasks are completed within set deadlines. You have strong problem-solving skills and can adapt to the needs of the organization. You are used to working independently, taking responsibility for your tasks, and delivering results on time. Since the role involves extensive contact and communication with different target groups, it is important that you can adapt your message and communicate clearly and attentively.
