Join and Keep Sweden's Defense in Motion!

It often starts with a request: “Can we get troops and equipment in place faster?” Behind every such question lies Sweden's ability to be ready – and behind that readiness are people like you. At the Swedish Armed Forces Transport Unit, we work to get everything and everyone where they need to be, when it matters most. We are now looking for a staff assistant who wants to be part of this important mission.

About Us

The Swedish Armed Forces Logistics (FMLOG) ensures that our own and allied units, schools, and centers have the logistical support they need – both at home and abroad. Since Sweden's entry into NATO, logistics has taken on a more central role, and FMLOG is in a dynamic phase where we are building a new nationally cohesive logistics management, on par with the branches of the Armed Forces. We strengthen support to NATO through host nation support, pre-positioning, and deployment of our own and allied units, while also developing our national structure with regional replacement areas. This mission includes the Armed Forces Transport Unit (TPE), which functions as the Armed Forces' national transport coordination center. Here we manage everything from strategic transport to operational movements with equipment and personnel – in the air, at sea, on roads, and railways. We keep the whole together and ensure that the Armed Forces and allies can act quickly, efficiently, and with precision.

About the Role

This is a role for you who enjoys building structure, likes people, and making things happen. As a Staff Assistant, you will be an important cog in our training flow – and a reliable point in the daily life of both managers and employees. Together with the Unit Manager, you will ensure that our training runs smoothly and that our facilities and vehicles in Stockholm are in top condition. You will be the hub for our internal information management, staff administration, office services, and support to our Chief of Staff in keeping the operations together. Furthermore, you will also act as our representative towards FMLOG's communications department.

Your Responsibilities

  • Support and participate in training activities
  • Be responsible for facilities and vehicles in Stockholm
  • Work in the Armed Forces' information systems with structuring and management of information
  • Provide administrative support to our managers within operational management, communications, dispatch, and office services
  • Be the unit's contact person with FMLOG's communications department

Requirements

  • Approved high school education or equivalent competence as assessed by the employer
  • Completed military basic training
  • Experience in information management
  • Good knowledge of Swedish and English in speech and writing
  • Driving license B

Personal Qualities

You work systematically, have an eye for detail, and take responsibility for getting things done and providing good service. As the role is new and under development, we see that you are proactive with the confidence to also contribute your own suggestions and solutions. You easily create good relationships and build networks – something that is valuable in our collaboration-intensive everyday life. You thrive and navigate even in periods of pace changes and enjoy order and tidiness.

Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.

Meritorious

  • Experience from working in the Armed Forces or another authority
  • Service as GSS (Group Leader, Seaman, Soldier)
  • Education in information management
  • Experience in signals protection administration
  • Experience in logistics or vehicle administration

For the authority's mission to be successful, it is assumed that all employees act according to the values that exist. The Armed Forces' values uphold the equal worth of all people, justice, and equality, and promote democracy and human rights (read more at www.forsvarsmakten.se).
