Transport Platoon Leader at the Swedish Armed Forces

About the Unit

The Swedish Armed Forces' Telecommunications and Information Systems Unit, FMTIS, has the main task of managing the operation and maintenance of command support systems at all readiness levels both nationally and internationally. The unit you will belong to is led from Örebro, but the work is based in Stockholm.

Main Responsibilities

As a transport platoon leader, you will support the unit primarily by planning and executing transports and fulfilling fuel requirements. You will be the platoon leader in a platoon that has several areas of responsibility and functions to support the daily operations of the unit.

Tasks:

  • Lead the platoon in both daily operations and during exercises/deployments
  • Conduct material transports and deliver fuel and supplies to customers
  • Handle materials
  • Some maintenance of vehicles and handling equipment
  • Participate in training to manage the relevant material systems

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

  • Swedish citizen
  • Approved high school education
  • Approved military service, GU or GMU
  • Approved officer or specialist officer examination
  • Driving license B
  • Military driver's license Heavy truck
  • Good ability to express oneself in speech and writing in Swedish and English

MERITORIOUS

  • Previous service as a platoon leader
  • Driving licenses C, CE, and D
  • Military driver's license Heavy truck with trailer
  • Experience in transport service within the Swedish Armed Forces
  • Experience in fuel service within the Swedish Armed Forces
  • Authorization for support legs and counterweight truck as well as wheel loader
  • ADR Basic, Class 1 and Tank
  • Trained in fuel handling
  • Trained vehicle instructor

Employment type: Permanent. The Swedish Armed Forces applies a six-month probationary period for those who are not employed by the authority.
Employment rate: Full-time.
The position is military
Work location: Stockholm. Business trips occur, as well as work at irregular hours.
Start date and salary according to agreement.
