Reservist Officers for the Armed Forces

We are looking for reservist officers who want to assist in the development of the Armed Forces and work to make Sweden safer. The Armed Forces are in a phase of development, which is why we are seeking individuals who are willing and able to serve as needs arise.

1. Military Police Battalion

The Military Police Battalion is a combat unit with the primary task of maintaining public order and security within the Armed Forces. The battalion's tasks can be divided into three overarching types:

  • Security operations, e.g., personal protection, escort, and surveillance.
  • Order operations, e.g., monitoring, patrolling, and searching.
  • Support operations, e.g., traffic regulation, evacuation, and training.

2. MP Squadron

The squadron consists of approximately 120 military police officers, of which about 10 are reservist officers. Most are police officers in their daily lives but are placed as MPs in the wartime organization. We typically train at least three to four times (weeks/year), and in addition, there are opportunities to apply for assignments, e.g., abroad or participate in exercises and training. The battalion's exercises are divided into three phases: personal skill, group/platoon combat, and a unit exercise with the battalion. To be placed as a military police officer, police officers are required to attend a military police refresher course (RKMP) every other year, which is organized twice a year, and others are required to complete the basic military police course. Those without MP or police training can be placed in staff positions.

Main Duties

In connection with exercises and missions, the military police participate with MPs to support both Swedish and foreign units. The battalion also has personnel stationed in Latvia as part of the FLF. As an RO in the 1st Military Police Battalion, there is an opportunity to serve in various positions such as platoon leader, deputy platoon leader, or cooperation officer.
