Student Assistant in Law
Are you a law student with a strong interest in areas such as tort law, construction law, and contract law? We are currently looking for a part-time student assistant.
Your Upcoming Role
The role of the student assistant will primarily involve working with tort law issues related to VA SYD's work and assignments. Other legal areas such as construction law, contract law, and water law will also be relevant.
You will support VA SYD's lawyers mainly in tort law, handle tort claims, assist in legal investigations, and independently draft legal memos. Your tasks will include case management, support, and advice, involving both independent work and collaboration with colleagues. You will have a meaningful role where you can directly contribute to the organization while also expanding your practical experience in the profession.
Your Main Responsibilities Include:
- Managing and investigating tort claims received against VA SYD
- Assisting VA SYD's lawyers in matters related to construction law, contract law, water law, procurement law, and other legal issues related to VA SYD's assignments
The Environmental and Legal unit consists of 19 employees, including three lawyers, and aims to strengthen VA SYD's ability to deliver according to the organization's mission and goals through the areas of environment and law.
The position is based at our headquarters in central Malmö. The employment rate is 20%, i.e., 8 hours per week, scheduled by agreement. The position is a temporary hourly employment starting from February 1, 2026, and lasting at least until the spring semester, with the possibility of extension.

Your Experience
VA SYD is looking for someone who has:
- Completed at least 6 semesters of the law program.
- A strong interest in and general knowledge of tort law.
- An interest in construction law, public procurement, and contract law.
- A high level of proficiency in both spoken and written Swedish.
