Quality Coordinator at SiS Youth Home Stigby

The Swedish National Board of Institutional Care (SiS) is an authority responsible for individually tailored compulsory care for young people with complex psychosocial problems and for adults with substance abuse. SiS also implements closed youth care. We do this at youth homes and homes for adults with substance abuse, across the country. At SiS, your work life will be an exciting challenge. No matter where in our organization you work or what position you hold, you help create life-changing transformations.

SiS Youth Home Stigby on Visingsö has space for about 30 young people and accepts non-school-attending boys with psychosocial problems, criminality, and substance abuse. We are divided into a reception and needs assessment department (MBB), four treatment departments, and we also have an aftercare unit in Jönköping.

Job Description

Do you want to contribute to a safer and more just care environment for our children and youth? Apply for the position of Quality Coordinator!

The role of Quality Coordinator is new within SiS, and the purpose of the role is to strengthen the home's ability to conduct proactive, legally secure, and systematic quality work. Your mission will be to contribute to the long-term development of quality in the operations. The role involves working independently but in close collaboration with the home's management team. The Quality Coordinator supports the local management team at Stigby and relieves the Quality Manager by strengthening the home's ability to conduct legally secure and systematic quality work.

Specifically, this means

  • Coordinating and managing the home's systematic quality work so that early signals of deficiencies are captured and translated into improvement work.
  • Supporting the home's managers in handling deviations such as lex Lex Sarah, IVO, and JO cases, and contributing to ensuring legally secure processes are applied in investigative work.
  • Supporting the managers in the home's work to implement new governing documents, methods, and working practices.
  • Participating in, and in some cases leading, youth councils and other forums where quality issues are in focus.
  • Contributing to dialogue and experience exchange between local and national levels, including participation in networks for quality coordinators.
  • Other tasks related to the role that are necessary to achieve good results.

You will be part of the team in Stigby's quality unit, which also consists of health and medical personnel (psychologists and nurses) as well as the institution's treatment secretaries. The team is led by the Quality Manager, who is your immediate supervisor.

You will also be part of a network of quality coordinators across all of the authority's homes, with opportunities for dialogue and experience exchange.

Qualifications

To thrive and succeed in the role, we believe you have a strong commitment to quality issues. You are analytical, structured, and meticulous with a good ability to drive and manage processes. You have integrity with a good ability to balance between a supportive and an auditing role. Furthermore, you have a good ability to work independently while being communicative and pedagogical, to support managers and employees in the development of the home's quality work.

You should also have:

  • A university degree in social work, behavioral science, or equivalent academic education combined with work experience that we assess as equivalent.
  • Experience working with systematic quality work in operations regulated by SOSFS 2011:9.
  • Very good ability to express yourself in speech and writing.

It is advantageous if you also have:

  • Knowledge of administrative law, lex Sarah, and regulations related to supervision.
  • Good knowledge and experience in data collection, documentation, and analysis.

At SiS, we care about good employee relations. This means that you as an employee take responsibility for your work, contribute to development, and participate in good collaboration. Read more about our employee relations.
